Author’s Notes: The prompt cadence was more used as an inspiration for the sounds Chuck wants to hear. This is my first Gossip Girl fic and I decided to take on the first slash pairing that appealed to me. Enjoy and please let me know what you think.

He can’t help but watch him. Humphrey makes it almost too easy, his head tossed back against the cold brick neck exposed and dark eyelashes resting against pale checks. Chuck Bass has never been one to wax poetics but he does appreciate beautiful things. He appreciates them spread out beneath him on a frequent basis.

There is this feeling that is starting to irritate him, one he gets when thinks about Humphrey, sees him, and listens to him prattle on like an idiot. It burns inside him. He wants the own the other man, wants to see him spread beneath him. He wants to hear him scream.

The thing is Humphrey never shuts up. He always has some glib remark to toss out, some nervous observation that only shows how glaringly he does not fit into the world of Chuck Bass. Even deliciously strung out, pupils blown and body slack, he wouldn’t stop talking and Chuck wants to make him shut up.

And then he wants to make him scream.

The need has been getting stronger day by day and Chuck had never been one to deny himself before Dan Humphrey. The only thing holding him back is the fear of rejection, and yes, Chuck Bass has a healthy fear of being rejected. So he spills his deepest secrets to someone he would have never even deemed worthy enough to know his phone number let alone his insecurities.

The thing is while Humphrey rarely shuts up when he does he has this amazing ability to listen. He listens and it is almost like he actually cares what Chuck has to say, what he feels, who he is.

Chuck has friends. Not many because there are only a handful of people that don’t completely annoy him and manage to keep him entertained and he considers them friends. There is Nate, Serena, and Blaire and they have been there for a long time. They have their problems of course, most of the time he can’t stand the girls and their games and Nate has a tendency of being very self centered but they were raised together. Still, Chuck has never told them what he told Dan Humphrey in a jail cell and he would like to think that means something.

That he is making some kind of progress because he is sick and tired of denying himself the base pleasure he often indulges in. It’s laughable to think that Chuck Bass would deny himself gratification because he has. He doesn’t like being rejected by someone he actually wants, someone he has made an effort to have.

Blair showed him that and he won’t let it happen again.

He wants Dan Humphrey; he wants him in several different positions for long periods of times. He wants to own him completely and he wants everyone to know.

So it’s simple really, he can’t let the Brooklyn boy say no.

Dan’s eyes open and he looks over at Chuck curiously warring with despair in their depths. His throat works as he shallows nervously and Chuck just grins.
