Awards Beyond Goddess
Jun. 16th, 2009 02:33 pmThis is a repost from
lit_gal's award post before, nothing new. If you're new to the comm, have a peek at the shinies underneath the cut!
Okay, let's say you're insane enough to make it to 30 weeks without falling off. That means you haven't earned any awards yet, and wow... that doesn't seem fair. So, we're going to start by giving you an award for making it to 30 weeks because--let's face it--that's seriously impressive. Now you are a goddess-level writer, and you remain a goddess-level writer until you miss a week. As a goddess, the rules are a little different (because, after all, you are divine!).
From this point out, you can essentially "purchase" any goddess award you want. Here are the rules.
1. You can't 'cash in' your first thirty weeks of writing... you need those to stay a goddess.
2. As you earn more weeks by keeping your run going, you may trade in those additional weeks at any point just by requesting, in the community, to cash in for a particular award. For example, as shown in point 3:
3. If you have 37 weeks of writing in a row, that means you have seven weeks you can 'cash in.' You have two different looking awards you can get for five weeks worth of writing; which one you pick is simply preference to the image. You're a goddess: you can choose! After you cash in your five weeks, that means you know have two weeks left in your 'bank.'
Here's the awards for five weeks past the 30 week Goddess:
Option one:
Option two:
4. You can keep your extra weeks in the bank for as long as you want, but once you 'buy' an award, those weeks are gone. In the sample above, the writer who earned 37 weeks cashed in five of those weeks for one of the above awards. This earned them a 35 week award (five over the goddess level of 30), and the writer is left with two weeks in the 'bank'.
5. If you break your run and skip a week, however, you are no longer a goddess *sob*, and you start over at week one. Yeah, that would really suck.
6. A goddess gets to choose awards, so there are two awards at each level. Simply let the mods know whether you'd prefer option one or option two for the award!

7. If you drop out after a certain number of weeks, i.e. end your run because you miss a week, you can earn one of these awards that way. Which award that is will depend on how many weeks you have. For example, if you have 42 weeks, you would earn the 40 week award. The 'bank' of weeks would not apply if you miss a week: for the writer in the example, those two extra weeks beyond 40 would disappear, and their count would go back to 0. You would lose your Goddess rank, and have to begin all over again. That's a tough price to pay for one of these awards, so make sure not to miss a week!
The next award past the 90 week mark is the 104 week mark. For the set of awards past 90, click here to see the entire list.
