Title
: Penny

Fandom
: None. Original.

Prompt
: Prompt 28 : A penny saved is a penny laying worthless in the drawer

Warnings
: I wouldn't think there is anything needing warning in this short thing. Except maybe some chat about blood.

Rating
: PG (some small talk of blood)

Summary
:Renée wonders what to do with some money.

A/N : This is using some characters from my NaNo 2006 story. lol. I've written another, slightly longer thing using another one of them, in a fic called Veronika. I quite like it. :) Actually AIdan is mentioned in the other one. Hee.

I made the banner. It's kinda a sucky banner, but still. lol. Renée = JG, Mari = Marla Sokoloff and obviously Aidan = JA. lol. :D

Pics got from here : jen-garner.net, Marla and the Jensen Ackles one was found with the help of Google. It's been a while so I have no idea from where it was except I found it searching with Google. If anyone knows, let me know and I'll credit. :)

"You know, a penny saved is a penny laying worthless in a drawer." Aidan told Renée, who was wondering if she should save some money she had gotten for a temp. Job she did as a favor for a friend or buy something fun with it. She never did anything fun these days, too damn busy with life.

"Ha ha ha, funny. Where did you hear that one?" She asked him, as she craned her neck to look up at her brother from where she was sitting in a chair, looking at her pay salary letter.

"I'll ask Mari when she gets here." Renée told him, and she knew what the look on her brothers face was without having to look back at him.

"You know, your little friendship with that fairy is so not even funny anymore. And it's cruel of you to let her come to our home, when we can't even have a tiny little taste." He told her, a tense look on his face as she just rolled her eyes at his rant. Any time Mari was mentioned, he would go off into a rant about how her friendship with the woman was totally unnatural and unfair to her family.

"Must you always think with your stomach? And the correct term is fae, not fairy." Renée told him, but yeah, she knew it was mean to invite her Fae-friend to her home while others were at home. She had only once had Fae blood, and those few drops had been euphoric to say the least but she would never hurt Mari or let anyone lay one finger on her. They had been friends since forever. Right now they were 20 years old in human years.

But really Renée was 200 in vampire years and Marigold is around 1997 years old. But they both look 20, plus they are pretty much treated that way by their respective races since the three worlds were bleeding more and more into each other.

"Hey, girl. What are you up to?" Mari asked her, therefore bringing her back out of her thoughts and made her laugh. Her brother had left as soon as Mari entered the room because if he couldn't taste her, he was not going to be in the same room as her. They had already covered this years ago.

"Eh. What to do with the money I got from that job I did for Jackie. Kinda great having money I earned myself." Renée told her, as she handed Mari the letter.

"Well, you know what they say. A penny saved is a penny laying worthless in a drawer." Mari told her, full on serious face and she looks at Renée like she's crazy but she's used to it when Renée bursts and started to laugh like crazy.

"What's so funny?" Mari asked her, as Renée went down from crazy laugh to a quiet giggle.

"Nothing important. Come on, lets put that money to some good use." Renée told her, as she stood up and hinted at the door towards the hall with her head.
