Well this is a really excellent story, so I hope you don't think I'm telling you off. There are a few words that I over use, and I have to use the "find" function in word to search and make sure I didn't over use them. We all have quirks as writers, but your conflict and characterization are really great here, and most of the time you have beautiful imagery that makes me feel like I can see poor William.
