Summary: Morgana is alone in her bedroom, in what should be her home but a part of it is missing, will always be missing.
Morgana was lying on her bed in Morgause's castle that was slowly becoming their castle. It was not that she wasn't calling it home by now. It was her home, her safe place where she would always be welcomed. Camelot had lost that title long ago, had never really had it if she was honest. It had been a place she was told she should could home, but somehow she had never quite managed to do so. She had always felt the magic inside of her. For a very long time she had not known what it was those dreams of her but she had always known she was different and didn't really belong by Uther's side. In Morgause's castle her magic was allowed to run free, encouraged even to be expressed, but she couldn't quite call this place home either. She felt like she belonged in it. It was a placed filled with magic and mystery and she felt safe into the embrace of the magic in the air, she felt at home in the library filled with books of magic and ingredients she didn't know. It was her world awaiting for her to learn and grasp it. But even then, if she did learn it all and became the most powerful sorceress of all time, still then she knew she wouldn't be able to call this place home, not all heartidly. Something would always be missing no matter where she went and that was the reason she could never call any place home, not truly, not without her. She would always be missing because Morgana knew she had lost her. Gwen. She had been the one that had made her see Camelot as a sort of home, not a real one but glimpses of what a home should be. Gwen had used to bring her flowers to brighten up her room and make it smell sweet aromas of peace. She had been the one whose smile had made Morgana's stomach turn upside down everytime she had seen it. She hadn't really lived in the same room as Morgana, nor even in the same house but she had been close enough. Her presence, her fragrance, her sight... it had been all that Morgana needed to call a place home. It had been Gwen, it would always be Gwen and her arms enlacing her to make her feel safe after a nightmare, to make her feel okay about her magic. It had always been Gwen's voice who brought Morgana back to reality and made her forget about the fear and tingling feel of magic into her veins, burning her inside, desperate to get out while Morgana was forcing it locked inside of her, pretending she had only had bad dreams, normal bad dreams. But Gwen was not here, would never be here. She had chosen her side, she had chosen Camelot and Arthur. She was going to make a home for him, not for Morgana.
She slowly rose from her bed and walked to the window. She could see the lake and the start of the forest at its farthest rim. It was beautiful at this early hour in the morning. It was peaceful and quite, the breeze bringing her sweet scents of wild flowers making her think that if she closed her eyes, maybe, just maybe, Gwen would open the door and smile at her, making her stomach turn upside down and make her feel complete, make her feel home.
