tamingthemuseI got sneaky with this one and managed to add in this week's prompt word "arcade" in. Actually, I felt quite devious about it. Well, we get our kicks somewhere, right? *g*
Previously: Xander rounded the crypt with the two cupids kissing, wondering again what had Angel all worked up. He'd been frantic to stop Xander from leaving the mansion tonight, even though Xander had drugged him.
Xander had been tense all night because of it, expecting some kind of Hellmouthy doom, but it had been a very ordinary patrol with Oz and Willow. They'd dusted exactly one vamp and lost another.
He made it back to the mansion without further encounters and climbed down the stairs into the little courtyard garden. He felt himself relax. He'd be with Angel beast now. Maybe make popcorn and watch a movie with him to make up for--
"Xander, isn't it?" Spike said, as he stepped out of the shadows of Angelus' garden. "My, but don’t you smell absolutely nummy!"

AN: Buffy never returned to Sunnydale, so now Xander as Nighthawk heads up the Scoobies in the fight to keep the Hell mouth safe. Everything up to Angelus being sent to Hell is canon.
