Title: Random Pages from the Histories, VII
Fandom: Original Fiction
Prompt: Pitch
Warnings: Voyeurism, Sex, Language, Spoilers for all Four Books (ah well)
Rating: R/NC-17
Summary: Can scrying, spying, and vicarious sex fill Aisling's needs?
Word Count: 5,494

I feel like I should offer apologies for this one... for the length, the ratio of narrative to dialog, the sheer volume of sex, the introduction of yet another character from this world. Sorry. I can't bring myself to do it. I had far too much fun writing this and derived far too much pleasure from Aisling's minor adventure. As many of previously discussed/written characters appear in this week's post, I'm linking to prior Random Pages that are about those characters for relative interest.

As always, feedback is awesome. Many, many thanks and hugs to Meredevachon for her incredible beta of this monster post; she caught many errors, typos, and inconsistencies. Those which remain are mine alone.

Having thus introduced Aisling, I hope you enjoy

Five Pitches and the Finger of Madness.

Title: Lullaby
Author: Artemis Rain
Fandom: Original Fiction
Prompt: Pitch
Warning: May contain traces of Purple Prose. And, um… does “weirdness” count as a warning?
Rating: K

Summary: Crossing the threshold between the waking world and sleep.

A/N: I must admit, this prompt gave me a lot of trouble. There was simply too much I could do with it; my muse couldn’t nail anything down. So finally I decided to forget fandom, and just do a bit of free association, writing a story based on the imagery the word brought to my mind. I’m not exactly sure how it happened, but, well, this is what I came up with.

A/N 2: The book mentioned is Moon Tiger, by Phyllis Root and illustrated by Ed Young.

The lullaby is from the song “Morphée” by Moxy Früvous.
Roughly translated, it means:

“Safe in the arms of Morpheus, I reign,
Nemo in exile,
Over my fragile dreams.”

It's set in the Buffyverse, but not really. More along the lines of the last few moments in the Buffyverse.

Does anyone remember that little girl who was heading up to bat when Willow did her Slayer spell...?
