Previously: "Way to ruin a romantic moment!" Spike glared at Xander, pissed off and still aroused.

"R-romantic?" Xander giggled, feeling himself on the verge of hysteria. "That's your idea of romance?"

Spike looked uncertain. "You liked it. You like me. I don't understand why you were cryin'. I wasn't even torturing you!"

"Spike! I told you I have feelings. For Angel."

Spike thought it over. Finally he patted Xander's back, trying to comfort him. "Well, you put out, but that was pretty disappointing for me, Harris. The crying was kind of distracting, if you must know. Hope you don't carry on like that the next time I do you. No offence, but it's off-putting. And, er, don't worry about Angel. He's not here right now, is he?" he finished brightly.

AN: Buffy never returned to Sunnydale, so now Xander as Nighthawk heads up the Scoobies in the fight to keep the Hellmouth safe. Everything up to Angelus being sent to Hell is canon.
