Previously: "Spike. What do you want?" Xander put down his school bag and put his hands on his hips, fed up.

"Um. Lots of money, actually, so I came up with a plan."

Xander shook his head. "You. A plan?"

"Oi! What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing...just Angel said you weren't much of a thinker once."

Spike smirked before strolling over to Xander in his loose hipped predator's walk. "Funny Angel sayin' that, seein' as how he's gone all primeval."

"So what's your big plan, rob the local bank?" Xander demanded scornfully.

Spike slapped him.

On the ground, Xander wiped the corner of his mouth, where the skin had broken.

"Do I need to remind you of what I am, boy?"

Xander swallowed, furious, humiliated and...scared. Oh, yeah.

"Good." Spike bent down and gently straightened Xander's jacket, his gentleness after the explosive violence extra creepy. He licked the blood from Xander's mouth. "Sorry about that, but you can't mouth off to me in front of the minions, Harris," Spike scolded him in a whisper.

"So what now? You take me somewhere and we rob a bank together?"

"No. Now I'm going to sell you to some very horny werewolves."

AN: Buffy never returned to Sunnydale, so now Xander as Nighthawk heads up the Scoobies in the fight to keep the Hellmouth safe. Everything up to Angelus being sent to Hell is canon.
