Title: ‘Until you wake up’
Fandom: Original story
Prompt: Hamartia (tragic mistake)
Warnings: Angst, I guess.
Rating: Safe for anyone to read.
Summary: Fear and entrapment in your own head. Because where else can you hide?
I used the Hamartia prompt to write this story, because in my opinion lack of communication between people who are perfectly well equipped to communicate might lead to tragic mistakes. The question is, is it one person making the mistake, or more? Who’s guilty? Now you tell me where it all leads.

Well this story has not followed any of my plans to date, why should this week be different?

Title: Random Pages from the Histories, XXVIII
Fandom: Original Fiction
Prompt: Hamartia
For Taming the Muse
Warnings: Language, Mucho Blasphemy, Violence, and Dumbass Mistakes Aplenty
Rating: PG-13-ish
Summary: The morning after Declan’s injury (and Sylvie’s healing of the same), Declan demands answers, and Kincaid’s world falls apart.
Word Count: a lot
A/N: Follows The Great Unwashed from last week. ***Edited to include: Also references Arcade, TtM Prompt #5. Arcade is primarily flashback to Declan's early adolescence in the orphanage (specifically an encounter with a boy named Andrew during a summer spent in Italy when they were training), but it does include minor spoiler material for what comes after the current story.

A/N2: Many, many thanks again to meredevachon for the phenomenal and short notice beta.

A/N3: If I didn’t before, I now understand why some sins are considered mortal and why some flaws are tragic. Hamartia was perfect for this stage in the story, but only if you understand that the protagonist of the story is Kincaid even though we get the majority of this from Declan’s POV. It was all originally written from Kincaid’s… and this was a colossal mistake on his part.

What they would say looking back on this now:

Declan: The mistakes were theirs to make. My part was to support and, when necessary, mend the broken pieces.

Kincaid: I couldn’t see another choice. I didn’t see this as a choice so much as the last desperate act of a desperate man. If I had known what would happen… but I didn’t. If we had listened to Declan…

Sylvie: I was nineteen years old, in love, and about to lose my life. What was I supposed to do under those circumstances?

Title: Divergence
Author: Artemis Rain
Fandom: Highlander, Doctor Who, Joan of Arcadia, reference to Heroes
Spoilers: for Highlander episodes “Comes a Horseman” and “Revelations 6:8”
Prompt: Hamartia
Warning: Crack. Lots of crack.
Pairing: None
Rating: K+

Feedback is welcomed with pathetically enthusiastic gratitude. I would really, really appreciate any concrit you could give me. I’m a big girl; I can take it.

Summary: 10th in the TCAFoYD series. Picks up right where Contact left off. One world, two Methos'. This is trouble.

Previous Parts

A/N: Unfortunately, this is another last-minute effort, so I hope it satisfies. Since having two Methos’ in a story is confusing as hell, I’m going to try to refer to them as “Death” and “Adam”, only using “Methos” when it’s obvious who’s being addressed.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] drummer_jew2002 for the last-minute beta!

Title: We All Stumble and Miss the Mark
Author: meredevachon
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: John, Dean, & Sam Winchester, Jim Murphy
Prompt #27: Hamartia
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1833
Spoilers/Warnings: Spoilers for the flashback sequences of Something Wicked.
Disclaimer: Supernatural, its characters and situations do not belong to me. This is all in fun and for love of the characters.
A/N: I had a really hard time with this prompt. Mostly because there were so many ways to use/address hamartia in the context of Supernatural. This is what I ended up with.
Summary: John and the boys show up at Jim’s after a hunt goes wrong.

Read We All Stumble and Miss the Mark in my journal.
