Hello everyone from your friendly neighborhood mods! *waves*
This is our first official prompt closing post. We'll be doing this from now on.
How's it work?
Well, the idea is to close out the prompts each week so there is no doubt if an entry makes it in on time. I set up post in Semagic and queue it up to post at GMT -12 (Which is 7am my time). I have been trying to embed a timestamp on the entry so there is absolutely no doubt when it posts, but so far, no dice.
What do you need to do?
That's the beauty, nothing. You should continue to post your entry by midnight in your timezone whenever possible, or switch timezones if you're late.
If you have a closing post, why do I have to make sure I'm timestamped before midnight?
Well, technically, you don't. However - being as this is an automatic, technology based solution, it's prone to errors. If the power goes off in the middle of the night here, the entry doesn't get sent. Also there's daylight savings time to consider and that could throw the entry off by an hour in either direction. It is in your best interest to continue to keep your entries time and date accurate.
If you guys have any questions, please let us know.
