Authors's note- The commemerative poem used in this is from my own brain but is inspired by the ANZAC words of rememberance that always made me tear up. In case you're unaware I'm referring to the poem used to commemerate Australian and New Zealand troops that have fallen in any of the battles we've fought in. I mean no disrespect by using it as an inspiration for the poem in the story.
"They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
we will remember them."
— From the Anzac Day Service
