What really stuck me about this chapter is the different types of intensity you play with.
Etienne's rescue was really heart in the mouth stuff with the encounter with Tim and then the bit of business with Chet and the spell. I never doubted that they would get away, but just given the scenario, I couldn't be entirely sure until the taxi was taking them back to the hotel.
Then there was the intensity of Lucie finding the lingerie and getting herself ready to welcome Etienne back in the most complete manner possible. "Oh, Etienne, I thought, what surprises lie in wait for you… starting with this one."
Both such different scenes - both demonstrating the fearlessness and determination and intimacy which binds these people together. Bravo love, that was just terrific.
