Summary: "You were such an insolent prat," Galahad laughed, his head was resting on Mordred naked torso.

"You were such an insolent prat," Galahad laughed, his head was resting on Mordred naked torso.

"No I was not." Mordred straightened up against the headboard of the bed, pushing Galahad away in this movement.

"You wish." Galahad replied as he sat up next to Mordred. "Remember that time I came back from Cameliard late at night and you walked into the stables just to annoy me?"

"Well... that was not insolence. I was drunk," the other man protested.

"And in love," Galahad mocked.

"Look who's insolent now." Mordred shoved Galahad in the shoulder. Galahad simply laughed.

"Back from your adventures already."

Galahad almost startled at the sound of the voice. He hadn't expected anyone to be in the stables so late in the night and hadn't heard anyone approaching. He took a second before turning back to face Mordred. The other man was leaning against wall opposite him.

"Yes, I am." He replied slowly.

"So late in the night. Was there not a feast held in your honour?" Mordred stepped away from the door and came to stand a few inches away from Galahad. He remained where he was. He had long since learned that Mordred loved to provoke him by invading his personal space especially when the stank of alcohol was on his breath.

"There was some festivities," he admitted. "But my mission was completed. I didn't see it necessary to remain longer than was required of me."

"Of course not." He smirked at Galahad and walked away.

Galahad stood still for a moment, waiting to hear the footstep of Mordred die away. He didn't understand why the other man would constantly come to make fun of him and provoke him needlessly. Had he been a different knight, he could have challenged him and beaten him many times already.

"I never understood the attention you paid me," Galahad said as his laughter died off.

"You were way too naive for that," Mordred joked.

Galahad laid his head back on the other man's torso.

"And I don't think I really knew why I was so drawn to you either," Mordred said softly. "I just thought you were so much like me and yet so different. I was... threatened by you."

"Threatened by me," Galahad echoed in a whisper.

"Yeah. Everybody loved you, including the King, and where did that leave me? And hey, I had a reputation to maintain," Mordred joked evading the uncomfortable subject of his past attitudes.

They remained silent for a while before Galahad added, "well that's all in the past. I know of much better things to do in the present than bicker at each other." He raised his head and smirked.

"Do you know," Mordred asked raising an eyebrow.

"You have no idea," Galahad teased mockingly before placing a kiss on the torso.

"Well, I demand to see proof of that. Otherwise, I might start to fall into old habits."

Galahad chuckled. "As if..." he commented before his lips started to trail down the other man's torso.
