Okay, "Lockpick" is over and the next prompt up in the queue is "Ayer's Rock" after that is "Cry Havoc" making the prompt for August 5th...[Poll #1025863][Poll #1025863]

I have to say that having a little advance notice is great with the time difference to the UK. Even one extra day in advance would be great, but obviously I'll bow to the majority decision.

I love the advance notice. It gives the muses time to come up with ideas and time to plan what to do.

I get confused with what is coming. But I always double check here and see what it is. I have to say, your generator needs a smack.

Are we getting banners when we all reach 52 weeks? I'm shallow and I want one.

I definitely like the idea of having notice. I'd prefer the two week but one week is better than none, in my book :)

Like [livejournal.com profile] sexymermaid, I've gotten a little confused from time to time, but that's primarily been when someone's posted way early (which I myself am guilty of having done). Actually, I do like having the week advance notice, honestly. The only problem I see is it's going to be difficult to go back to not having any extra time. *g* Maybe keep it for two weeks for a bit then go down to one and then back to normal? Sort of a weaning process?

I'm going to go drink some tea and mull this over.

Just curious, but has voting gone by the wayside? We didn't vote last week, and I haven't seen a voting poll go up for this week either...

I want one, too. But I'm... I'm...
*sob*
I can't write that quickly.
All I can do is offer you my blood...

Will kisses help? xx

Also, I've posted ahead, as I finish (so I don't forget. I'm awful.)
Will those who poted ahead-ahead-ahead have to repost, so the mods don't skip?

I can't even remember what day this is... guh.

I like having advance notice, whether two weeks or just one, but having the actually dates each prompt is due on would help greatly.

I know what Calypso means about the deadline creating a mood for the comm, and I agree with her. But it would be nice if the next prompt could be posted maybe, just a day earlier.

On this side of the pond we get it at about 3 or 4pm on a Sunday, so don't have a prompt to consider all day Sunday, while you lot in the new world are asleep. ;-)

*shrugs* Serves us right for choosing to live in Europe. *g*

At the moment it looks like a close thing. I'll happily go with the majority ruling. I just love this community so much and am so grateful to it, for making me write.

Last week's was posted a bit late, and probably got buried in the posts for the newest prompt.

Here's (http://community.livejournal.com/tamingthemuse/304374.html#cutid1) a link if you want (this is last week's voting) :)

*hangs head in shame*

I've been in and out of the country all summer and all mixed up what week is going and on some week's I've realized a bit too late it's been my turn to do the poll. I also know that [livejournal.com profile] authoressnebula who does the polls every other week has been quite busy as well. We do try to get the polls up on Sundays but sometimes RL intervenes *g*

The voting for last week's prompt is here (http://community.livejournal.com/tamingthemuse/310877.html#cutid1)

Blah. I cede victory to the prompt 'Ayers' Rock.' I just couldn't come up with anything except a parody fic where some new guy named Ayer carries something around with him that everyone complains about, until finally someone asks what it is--and it's Ayer's Rock. Oh, or the one where Ayers' Rock is a beer... I haven't slept in 36 hours (not fanfiction-related), so forgive me if I sound a bit loopy.

The funny part is that I wrote more fanfiction in this past week than I'd written in the month prior (some not complete yet)! Ah, well. At least I only had 2 stories up, it could have been worse. ;)

Will be back with 'Cry Havoc' for our next week!

I really don't understand why so many of yall don't want one week ahead. Personally I didn't even need 2 weeks in advance for the summer but once school starts up and things one week in advance would be wonderful. How does it hurt anyone to have one week in advance?

I guess I just don't get this. For some of us this would be so, so helpful. I don't see why anyone would vote against something that could help so many others.

Well, personally, I prefer the old system of 'one week, one prompt' because I find it difficult to focus on two prompts at once, but it's certainly no problem to adjust to a new system.

Since summer is so difficult with people traveling, etc, I wonder if it would be possible to maintain the two weeks advance until September, and then when things are a bit more stable for most people, go down to a one-week-in-advance system or one-week-one-prompt system (whichever the comm wants). Perhaps at that time, if people know they're going to be traveling or exceptionally busy, they could privately request an extra week's advance prompt to give themselves more time without affecting the prompt-posting schedule of the comm?

Maybe that would be too complicated. Anyway, it's just a thought.

*nods* I understand the confusion. I just figured it you wanna work on one a week then work on one a week and if not you get a week ahead. On thing for me is I have a few poeple I co-write with and something a week just isnt' enough and it's just so upsetting when the prompt is perfect for what you're working on. I dunno, I just dont' see how one week ahead *hurts* anyone. That and I have have friends in school that one week just doesn't work with tests etc.

Honestly, I'm just curious if the 2 week votes will be counted for 1 week considering they obviously want extra time.
