Hiya Tamers! I apologize for not putting up a prompt last night, but between getting things ready for dinner tonight and last minute present wrapping, I didn't really have the time. On the other hand, I'm not going to put one up now, we're just going to treat this as a free week. Rest, relax, let the muses wander a bit, and we'll get back to it on the 31st.
In other news, there are some changes coming to
tamingthemuse. One* of them is that there will be a new monthly theme/trope/prompt. I will be putting up the rules for it by the 31st when the first one will be posted.
Basically though, it will go like this: at the beginning of every month a prompt, theme, or trope will be posted. There are a few ways you can use them if you decide participate. One is to write something for it like you would a normal weekly prompt. For that the minimum word count would be 2000 words. Or, you could, over the course of the month, incorporate the theme/trope/prompt into your weekly writing. There would be only the normal minimum of 500 words for the weekly prompt as usual.
Like always, everything is open to interpretation. Also, whatever you posted, if you choose the second option, would not have to be from the same body of work. I mean by that, if the prompt is fairy tales, you could write a several one shots over the month dealing with fairy tales, having a fairy tale like quality, etc. If you wanted to be challenged a little more, you could definitely write them all interconnect. I think that would be fun :D, insane but fun.**
Okay, that's all for now. Happy Holidays to those who celebrate, Happy Stuff Yourself with Food to those who don't, and hugs to anyone who had to work today.
*The other changes will be revealed in the new year
**Oh, yes, there will be awards for the monthly challenges.
