First, let me get this out of the way...SQUEE! Update!
*clears throat* Okay and then just a couple typos I noticed:
“We've have stood stronger together,” he finished quietly. “I know we would've.” We'd have, maybe? Something along those lines?
“Sure there's a car around her somewhere we could hot-wire,” Spike said. And looks like you're missing an e in here. :)
Now, back to me flailing about because OMG, cliffhanger! *spazzes* Horrible (in a really good way) cliffhanger! Because someone else is down there and, granted, it could be Spike and Angel but it could also be Council poopheads trying to kill Buffy and gah! You're killing me here.
Spike paused a minute before asking, “You two would've stood stronger together, or all three of us?”
Angel began to answer, then stopped, frowning slightly as he regarded Spike. “I don't know,” he finally said. “Maybe all three of us.” He didn't look sure, though.
Spike sat back and considered. It was the answer he'd been expecting, truthfully. Buffy wouldn't have picked between them, though. She'd made that perfectly clear by hiding this from the both of them.
I love that Angel's not sure and Spike knows that Buffy wouldn't pick between them. Those two are completely torn at this moment, trying to hold onto all the hurt and anger but at the same time wanting to just be with Buffy. You definitely get across their struggle. And how much do I love that Xander's trying to get all three of them to talk? LOTS. I'm just saying. I love it a lot. I even love that Spike wants to hurt Buffy the way he's hurting and will do so by ignoring her because it's so Spike.
“Bloody hell,” Spike groaned, turning back and almost into Angel. “They left already.”
“We'll see her when she gets back,” Angel said, and Spike nodded. They could talk then; no problem.
Except a tiny part of him kept pulling at him restlessly, whispering that there might not be a Buffy coming back. Not if the Council found her.
The same fear was flickering through Angel's face.
Um, yes, boys. *nods* Go! Shoo! You're either going to the mystery folks in the room or you're going to show up just in time for all the action. Either way, get your cute asses moving! This part just made me go, "Hello! That's what Xander was trying to tell you! Ugh, men." LOL.
I'm sure my reaction to the update next week will be just as amusing as this week since I saw the update this week and went, "Yes! I've been dying since last week for that!" and Raven just shook her head and went, "Oh the horror. Last week." Which is when I told her to shut up and clicked on the link. *grins*
