Oh, this is developing nicely. A bit of exposition to give the technological and social backdrop, and a quick sight of the plans, is very welcome and placed exactly right, following the personal and emotional back story of last week. Derrick's loneliness is touching, but his determination is sustaining him and that feels real. I have visuals from those 60s movies of Jules Verne stories in my head as I read. Very nice.
