Title: The Diamond Blood Legacy; 3.5
Fandom: Original
Prompt: Triskele
Summary: word count: 515 The trio make to leave Davin’s house for good.

Before he let Viljo leave the house, he inspected the carriage himself. He put each piece of luggage on the back and patted down each cushion. Temuji carefully washed his magic over the vehicle and tied it to him so that no other magic could taint it.
Then he turned his attention to John Coachman. The man had been in Davin’s family’s service for years, so he’d been told, but now wasn’t the time to trust anybody. So he put his magic inside the man’s head and controlled him completely. Motioning him away, he lightly raced up the stairs into the house and told the housekeeper to fetch Viljo.
The boy was still sullen, a mulish look on his face as he eyed the open door like a snake. Temuji stepped up to him, putting two fingers to his brow. Viljo’s eyes widened when he felt Temuji’s magic pour from his fingers, coating his body in an invisible cloak.
“There, that should keep you out of his sight for a bit. If he really starts to look for you, then I’ll have to do something more, but hopefully this will last until we get you to House Coatl.”
Swallowing hard, Viljo nodded and for the first time, Temuji realized that it wasn’t stubbornness in this blue eyes, but fear. Real fear, terror. He clasped his hand on his shoulder. “You’ll make it there safely and everything will be just fine.”
He nodded, but still looked doubtful. Shaking his head, Temuji turned to the door and motioned for the housekeeper to go first. With a long look at the house around them, knowing that she’d never see it again, she finally turned away and stepped outside.
Viljo also took the time to gather himself. Wasn’t this the only home that he had known that had been kind to him? Did he remember his parents at all?
Quicker than necessary, the boy raced out of the house and into the awaiting carriage. Smilingly sadly, Temuji gathered his hat to him and cast a glance at the old oil painting that portrayed a very young Davin. “Fare thee well, old friend.” He put the hat firmly on his head and left the house, the door closing behind him with the help of hidden hands. He helped the housekeeper into the carriage and directed Viljo to sit opposite her with his back to the driver. There had been a basket of fresh foods prepared on the seat next to him and Temuji hoped the boy would eat, as he hadn’t eaten all day.
Before entering himself, he stepped back and shut the door, putting his fingers to the black of the door. With magic, he etched a three sided character, swirls and loops, making the triskele of protection against magic. Nodding to himself, he finally opened the door and entered, seating himself beside the housekeeper despite her snort of derision. He grinned lively and tilted his hat over his eyes.
“Sleep, you two, this is going to be a long ride.”
Silence greeted him, but he expected nothing less.
