Umm, I'm a first time writer to this, and I couldn't find if there was a 'proper' place for me to put my preference for which award I picked. Well, I want the Euterpe Award - that's 12 consecutive weeks - award. Three months. Wow, that's ambitious. Who thinks I'll make that? Not me. So, umm, I would also like to ask if everything we write here has to be towards one thing, or if we have to put everything we write towards a story on this comm if we write everyday? These might be answered elsewhere or sound like really dumb questions, but I seriousy couldn't find the answer. If I find somewhere that answers these questions before someone comments, I will edit this bit out...

Title: Eyes of Midnight
Fandom: Buffy/Angel Flashback verse
Prompt: Osmosis (It only fits the prompt because of two lines: 'William flared his wings to keep balance, as a hollow shot of wind ebbed around his form.' and 'It was William's voice that whispered the word against the side of her face, a couple of metres before cobble stones would have mingled with Drusilla's broken body.' Is this enough?)
Warnings: None
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Okay, this story is up to it's 9th chapter now. It has a couple of main threads rushing through it. 1/ It started with an AU take on the scene where William/Spike is walking through the streets tearing up poetry after Cecily shoots him down. 2/ The Master has turned Willow and she is his favorite. As well, Xander is part of this clan of vampires, and Jesse sired him. 3/ Angelus has been asked by the Master to help him sort out some of his more... ambiguous vamps and he and Faith have gotten together to attempt to bring the Master down. 4/ Darla and Angelus have a history, but instead of like in canon, Angelus being good and Darla not forgiving him, it's kinda the other way around. Darla is also living in a safe haven with Lindsay. 5/ There are angels, vampires and humans. Angels include William, Angelus, Darla and Drusilla. Vampires include the Master, Willow, Cecily, Xander and Jesse. Humans include Lindsay and Faith, who is also a vampire slayer.
Previous parts of this story can be found here.

The current chapter, for this prompt, is Chapter 9.

Actually sweetie, the preference is yours...

Most of mine were shorts written specifically for the prompt...other people have incorporated their prompts into a storyline...and some have flipped back and forth between the two...so do whatever you feel comfortable with, and I'm sure that things will be fine...

BTW, good story so far...

:)

I've always been quick...lol...

Just go back through the prompts and take a gander at the variety of stuff that's posted here...we've got BtVS universe, HP (mostly mine), original fiction, Supernatural, and a ton of interesting, gripping short stories by just about anyone...even some of a religious nature, or sacreligious...

Go ahead...take a look, I'll wait... *giggle*

I'm going for the Goddess award myself...only seven prompts to go...I wonder what happens when we get past that stage? Maybe I need to ask [livejournal.com profile] litgal...

Good luck!

HP (mostly mine) which I adore

or sacreligious... hey! is that a jab at me???

I wonder what happens when we get past that stage? I've wondered that myself but just assumed we start over. another 30 weeks... are we gluttons or what?

seriously, welcome, Persephone. lovely moniker, by the way. (I once wrote a one-act play set in 2000 w/Pandora, Aphrodite, Demeter, and Persephone - with a cameo appearance by Zeus. not sure what I did with that thing.) you should really enjoy the comm. we're a relatively friendly bunch, and it's a great place for support.

*teehee*

Actually no...I was selfishly thinking of my own stuff again...for the 'wool' prompt I wrote a little bit about Christ in Gethsemane...when I read it out loud to my (Catholic) girlfriend, she kind of freaked and said that I was on a steep slide right to hell...*snicker*

Although if the shoe fits, I'll gladly share it...*snickersnort* *pokepoke*

As for what happens...[livejournal.com profile] litgal kindly replied...Maybe we need to start picking out Goddess names?

Riiight. I took a new position this fall. Mentioning a book I'm hawking to agents currently (southern chick lit) to one of the faculty, she remarked, "Oh, that witchy stuff? Yeah, don't tell me about that." *snickers back*

Well, clearly, it does. I was quite quick to see myself in that comment. *grins* meredevachon (http://meredevachon.livejournal.com/) and I have a visitation schedule (http://meredevachon.livejournal.com/129839.html?thread=533551#t533551) set up for Kane. Do you and I need a custody arrangement for the Shoe of Sacriledge?

I'm a little in awe because I hadn't even considered what to do if people got *past* the Goddess award. You're just incredible. Obviously, you'll get the goddess award, and then, as a community, we'll need to decide whether the goal would be to go back and get the others or have higher awards or what.

*chokes then stutters*

go on? after a roaring kegger, right? what am i saying... sure, i could go on. i'm game. i mean, self-flagellation's better than no flogging at all, i suppose. there's no way i'm wrapping up this story in seven weeks anyway. what the hell.

who are you kidding anyway, lit_gal? you know you're dying to make more awards!

Maybe start naming the Goddesses...like Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, etc...or combine them for the next level, like the Goddess Urania, Goddess Melpemone, etc for the higher ranking awards...

There are so many ways to go with this...

Did I ever tell you how much I love this community and how fantastic it really is? It helps me stretch my imagination and literary fingers out to capture whatever enters my feeble little mind...You've done a bang-up job as well, sweetie...thank you for your amazing modding of this little ship of fools!

Hi there love, welcome to the comm. I was a new writer only a short 7 weeks ago (after not writing for nearly 20 years) and I can honestly say that [livejournal.com profile] tamingthemuse is a terrific place to be. Using the prompt word each week is both fun and on occasion a bit nerve wracking, but it really does make you think and sometimes takes you off in strange directions.
As has been already said, write what you want - OriginalFic/Fan Fic, it doesn't matter so long as it's got the prompt in it and is at least 500 words long. In the last 7 weeks I've done one piece of Original Fic, one Buffy episode, and a supposed Buffy one off which has turned into a 5 part series when I wasn't looking with a 6th half way down the birth canal.

Going off to read your story now. Take care and I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do. The people are great and the water is warm.

Well, it seems like you got your questions answered, but I thought I would just say welcome. I do pretty much what you've done here... I link in whatever piece I use the prompt in. Sometimes that means one of my epic fanfiction pieces, and other times, I do a stand alone because the prompt refuses to fit into my long stories. As long as you write at least one story or chapter a week, you're on your way. And you may find that it's easier than it looks once you get in the habit of always writing.

I love the world you've created. It is very intriguing.
I see your questions have been answered so I have but two things to say. Welcome and Happy New Year!
