Hi,

must admit I was wary this was going to turn into a bit of slashfic but, as I've liked your fics in the past I thought "Wait a sec, let's just investigate this. It might turn out to be worth it."

Well it was :-)

You know what the over-riding image was in my mind by the end? Walter Matthau & Jack Lemmon (a la 'The Odd Couple & Grumpy Old Men'). or rather Xander & Spike in a Joss Whedon-directed remake.

Always thought that, if they'd not been separated by over a century & a rivalry for Buffy's affections those two would have made really good mates.

In short, I thought this was great. Thanks for writing it. It's really brightened my, well early afternoon now actually.
