Okay... the week is up, and it's time for yet another wonderful prompt from the prompt generator. And boy am I sorry now that I put so many weird things in there, but this comes from a list of literature terms I dumped in. In case you haven't figured it out, I pretty much dumped any and all lists of words I could find into this sucker. So, for this week the prompt is

good for your English teacher! And I don't know what's going on, but all three links work for me. The third link defines hamartia as

a localised developmental disturbance characterised by abnormal arrangement and/or combinations of the tissues normally present in the area.

I'm all for interpreting it as openly as you want. You can have a tragedy, or just something missing the mark (like Spike's plans do 90% of the time). You can do it biologically, and I don't know whether a vampire bite would medically qualify as hamartia, but I wouldn't be too picky. This is a strange one. And yes, Toys is the never-ending fic, so I'm glad you like it.

Actually it works really well with Longing and Angel's tragic flaw. Not unlike the Trojan War, really. That story so far is a really good fall back place for Taming. Now we'll see if I can actually *write* it, of course.

I'm hoping it too. I'm just having trouble coming up with a tragic flaw. I keep thinking about funny things and I don't really know if they can be counted as tragic. They are more tragic comedy. Don't know if that fits.

but you can have the funny, but still have a flaw that causes a person to damage themselves or their loved ones. I think of most of the Buffyverse characters as having fatal flaws.

Actually, during said glass of wine, I had an epiphany about how it might work in Perceptions - goes off for second glass of wine to work it through....
