Title: Dance for all to see
Fandom: Torchwood
Pairing: Jack/Ianto
Rating:PG
Summary: Jack thinks dancing is a perfect way to spend a date. Ianto disagrees.
Jack’s hand slid further down his back and Ianto glared at him. He pulled the hand back onto the middle of his back and sighed.
“I can’t believe I’m doing this,” Ianto muttered as he dipped the other man and pulled them back up straight. Jack gave him a teasing grin as they danced backwards and then forwards again.
“I’m no good at this either,” Jack said as he stepped on the other’s foot, again, “And why are you complaining I let you lead like you wanted.”
“What I want is to not be here. What are we doing anyways?” Ianto growled as he glanced at the dance studio full of old couples and those obviously desperate to hold onto their relationship for a few more days. It didn’t help that they were the only same sex couple and everyone kept looking at them oddly. Ianto had come to terms with the fact he was dating Jack, who happened to be a man, but that didn’t mean he wanted to flaunt it the rest of the world by mamboing. Who mamboed anyways?
“You said you wanted to date. To go on nice, normal dates. Dance classes are the most normal type of date I’ve ever thought of,” Jack said and Ianto rolled his eyes. It might be normal for a man and a woman, but for two men he’d never heard of it. Ianto figured he’d picked this particular outing type because it involved a lot of touching.
“Dinner, movies, walking in the park. You couldn’t have thought of something like that. Instead you have us in a room full of soon to be divorcees and old people. I would have rather gone out to a club and warn something skimpy then go out with in a suit and tie to be bored,” Ianto whispered into his ear as he tried to fallow the teacher’s instructions. He wasn’t much of a dancer and Jack was even worse then him.
Jack gave a devious grin.
“That was your idea all along you bastard,” Ianto said getting the gist of what had happened, “You wanted to show me how boring a normal date would be, so I’d want to do something, anything different. You’re a horrible man do you know that? Perfectly horrible.”
“You know there is a club down on main…all men type of place,” Jack suggested his body getting closer, pressing up against Ianto’s chest, “Where we can do whatever we want in the dark dance floor and no one will say a thing.”
“I’m not having sex with you on the dance floor,” Ianto said a little too loudly catching the attention of the couple next to him and his cheeks burned red.
“Not right now, at a gay club later,” Jack said which didn’t comfortable the conservative types much at all. Ianto was glad Owen wasn’t here to see this. Although someone might see something. His eyes glanced over at the window and he saw the traffic outside.
“You’re ashamed of me,” Jack accused into his ear, “Ashamed of my cock is more like. Is it so bad dating another man.”
“No,” Ianto said honestly, “But I…I don’t want…”
“Anyone to see, you and me. You want us to hide in the dark and keep our heads down. I’m not that type of guy Ianto. I want to show you off because I’m proud you’re putting up with me. Proud your with me and I’m with you.”
“Jack, I’m not ashamed.”
“Then let’s dance, Ianto, let’s dance,” Jack said tightening his hold on Ianto’s shoulder, “For all of them to see.”
“Jack,” Ianto said breathlessly and sighed. He leaned in and kissed him firmly on the lips. Let them all watch him dance with Jack. Let them hate and be jealous and cruel and horrible. Jack was proud of being with him and nothing had moved his heart like that in ages.
