Title: He's on a roll!
Fandom: Being Human
Prompt: Creolization
Warnings: none
Rating: G
Summary: George thinks about the changes in his life.
George grabbed a plate and put it into the cabinet. The dishes needed to be done and he wasn’t letting Anne do them again. He knew she didn’t have a lot else to do, what with being home all the time, but she deserved to have fun once in a while too. They had saved up and bought a new Wii for Christmas. George had seen a few advertisements and knew they would love it. Annie had al the hi scores because she played it the most when they were at work. He had gotten her a handful of extra games, but Wii sports seemed to be the real winner. He could have saved himself an extra few pounds if he’d know that before hand. None the matter, he personally like Zelda: Twilight Princess. Even if Mitchell had made fun of him for it sounding like a gay porno wait ingot happen.
He finished the last of the dishes and walked into the kitchen doorway, wiping his hands off on a clean dish towel.
They were still playing, Mitchell doing his best to bet Annie at her favorite game; bowling. He was doing a terrible job, but they were having fun. The witty banter and the comical plays of disappointment when a pin didn’t go down where priceless.
It was so unlike home. His house had been stoic, but friendly. His mother liked her quiet times and his father always preferred reading or puzzle work. They didn’t like it when he freaked out or said something geeky or interesting. His life had creolized because of the werewolf bite, but he didn’t mind it anymore. Things were better. He didn’t have to hide things form his friends. Annie and Mitchell understood and excepted him, oddities and all. They took him in when no one else would.
To anyone looking in from the outside they would seem almost like a normal circle of friends. Perhaps this outsider would be trying to figure out who was fucking who, but other than that, it’d seem perfectly tame. They didn’t know Mitchell’s blood lust or that Annie’s dead body had been buried years ago. They couldn’t know that George went made once a month and wanted to kill people.
The three of them got along though. Together they forged forward and fought against the insanity pressing in on all sides.
“We’re not painting George,” Annie complained.
“And while I know I’m pretty, staring is a bit obsessive,” Mitchell teased.
He hadn’t even realized they had stopped playing and were staring over at him. He hadn’t thought he’d been that obvious in his glances, but obviously he had. He felt sort of bad for it, while at the same time they didn’t seem to mind.
“What can I say? I was just thinking of how easily I’d destroy all of you in a game of tennis,” George said not wanting to give all the details of his thoughts away. It’s seem too much like a gushfest and even Annie might not appreciate it.
“Yeah right! Grab a controller, I’ll have you on,” Annie challenged.
“You know I remember a day and age where you had to go outside to play tennis,” Mitchell said rolling his eyes.
“Good thing they have Wii Sports now, or else you’d ever get a chance to play,” George said holding his hand out for the remote. Mitchell handed it.
“Way to kick a vamp below the belt.”
“Way to try to sound snotty and smart by using your old experiences,” George responded and Annie giggled.
“He’s got you there,” Annie told Mitchell and Mitchell glared.
“Least I’m not a dog.”
“Least I can get a tan!” George taunted back and Mitchell went quiet.
“He’s on a roll today,” Annie cheered.
“Gonna roll on his ass if he’s not careful,” Mitchell growled.
“Don’t be jealous because I’m brilliant,” George said just before he started laughing.
This was his home and while it was different than we’re he’d thought he’d be at this age, it was the only placed he wanted to be right now.
