[identity profile] tamingmods.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] tamingthemuse
This is the new contact-a-mod page and it'll be set up for easier use for both authors and us mods :D.

Section One: Newbie Questions

This is for those new to Taming who might be a tad bit confused about how things work around here. I do ask that you first read through the Rules before asking any questions.

Section Two: I need a Tag

Once again, for new authors who need an author tag.

Section Three: Awards and Standing Questions

Pretty straight forward. Ask and you shall be answered.

Section Four: Comments, Questions and Complaints

Pretty self-explanatory. Basically, anything that doesn't fit in the other sections land here.

I ask that everyone who needs to contact the mods please use this. I know some have contacted us personally, and if it is a personal matter, such as needing to step down or such, then that is fine. But for all other matters please do it here, that way all the mods are notified which will increase the likelihood of a quick response.

And back to our schedule muse wrangling!

YOU. ARE. LOVED. And appreciated. Please, don't ever doubt it. This community is amazing. I've been a member almost as long as I've been an LJ user (formerly dfasgiles), since the times members used to vote on others' submissions and you mods went to the trouble of tallying the votes! And, back then, we were told to make an effort to submit "clean" work (i.e., proper punctuation, grammar, etc.). I'm not sure if the mods have changed hands since then or not, but I know it was decided to stop the voting because it was getting to the point where most of the time only 3 people were voting, so it wasn't worth the mods' trouble to put up the polls. What was funny was more people came out to vote for whether there should still be voting every week than they did to vote on each week's submissions.

Anyway, considering that I have basically been completely neglecting all my communities for at least a year and they aren't nearly as complex as this one, I'd say you are a pretty amazing person who deserves a boat load of appreciation and respect.

May I request the ability to lock a post to 'moderators' only. I'm beginning to play with some original fiction and I would like very much to limit the number of viewers to a bare minimum.

Are you linking to a post on your own journal? We've allowed that before as long as the locked post can be seen and verified by the moderators (me, XO and Zippitgood). Basically as long as you have a correctly tagged post in the community for Zippit to check for tracking and the mods can access the post on your journal through a filter that's perfectly fine.

Good luck on your writing! :-D

My journal is full of Buffyverse fanfic stuff. I don't really want to lock it down. I created a community called [livejournal.com profile] vllipham and sent an invite to the [livejournal.com profile] tamingmods user. So far no one has picked that up. If you require more of me, just let me know.
