For such an easy space fic prompt ... I have really obscure references. Quick explanation: Hyrai is where ancient Orion was supposedly born/created. Hyron is the singluar of Hyrai. Luna di Lupo is Italian for Wolf Star, a nod to SiriusRemus for a friend that loves the pairing. Sirius is the hunting dog at Orion's feet. Yeah ... obscure. Anyway.

AN: According to Wikipedia “The stars were associated with Osiris, the god of death and underworld, by the ancient Egyptians. The Giza pyramid complex, which consists of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure, is said to be a sky-map of the Belt of Orion, that is, of Osiris.” This is why the prompt ‘orion’ turned into a Firefly fic :) Possibly a first part of something slightly longer.
