Author’s note- So who remembers this story? I appear to have recaptured my muse and whilst writing this chapter felt a little like giving birth I think it turned out better than I could have hoped for given the fact that I haven't seemed to be capable of writing lately at all. I'm sorry this chapter doesn't seem like it's going anywhere, I promise to have action in the next chapter. *crosses fingers*

Note- I know that I'm an hour late for the due date but I'm having serious problems with coding at the moment. Even for this post my coding is being all funny.

Comments are loved and appreciated. Whether you love it or you hate it feel free to let me know!

Xander rummaged through Angel’s bookshelf, occasionally selecting a book, glancing it over and putting it back in its place with a shudder of disgust.

Hello everyone! I hope your year has started well!

The prompt generator has again spoken and this time around it has suggested the following prompt

Etic

So there it is, the first prompt of this year. You also still have time to post your entries for last week's prompt, so no worries there.

Hello everyone! *waves*

It’s time for our January monthly challenge!

Again trying something different.

1000+ word story rewriting a fairy tale. This should be a complete story, rather than a part of a larger piece, however, it can be original or fan fiction.

Entries will need to be received by midnight 31st Jan. at GMT -12. We’ll issue a closed post as we do with the weekly prompts.

When you post your entry, please tag it for the challenge.

You do not have to be a regularly contributing member of the community to participate. This challenge is optional and open to everyone.

You are allowed to use the monthly challenge in conjunction with any of the weekly prompts this month as long as you follow all the requirements for both. So, for this month, you would:
  • Include the weekly prompt in your story
  • It would be a stand-alone, a story of 1000 words or more retelling a fairy tale
  • It would be posted by the earlier of the two deadlines (midnight Saturday, or midnight on the 31st).

Good luck everyone!

Hello fellow tamers and welcome to a New Year!

Just a couple of things to usher in the New Year (Twenty Ten or 2010 or however you plan to say it):

*Edit*: Creating a second post since livejournal keeps erasing the middle portion of this one.  There is an award for darklingdawns and I think it is quite pretty myself, so I really want it to appear.

A welcome to [livejournal.com profile] brigits_nook .  I like to think of it as my contribution to the greater lj writing community.  Its for people looking to beta for new writers or new writers looking to make older writing friends or pretty much anyone inbetween.  I'll have weekly brainstorming sessions and I think it'll be a lot of fun!  Consider joining and pimping out!  I would certainly appreciate it!  Remember the name: [livejournal.com profile] brigits_nook

Oh, and if you have any questions about this week's prompt, here's a link or two for etic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emic_and_etic

I think that's all for the week!  I've let the other mods know about the repeat in the monthly challenge for all those who were asking, so we'll check into that for ya!

Your friendly neighborhood mod here again. It seems I really shouldn't be doing the prompt posts just after waking up. Accidents happen then. It seems the prompt I posted earlier has already been used previously. Therefore a new prompt has been chosen. The new prompt is...

Etic

The earlier prompt post has been edited as well. My apologies for this!
