Summary: A year later, he feels that gaze again...
Distance Never Changes, Only the People Do
A ripple of want and desire burns through him. It can't be...it just can't be. He turns and scans the crowd of hundreds at the track tonight. It's been a year since he's moved out here. A year for him to have gotten used to the weather, gotten a tan, and try to forget the one he left behind.
Plays with the arms of the firesuit tied around his waist and bites his lip. Only one person can make him feel like that. Only one person can make him hard with nothing more than the feel of his gaze on him. He wouldn't...he wouldn't come out here. Not for him.
After several failed relationships where all he did was compare them to him, he gave up on romance. He's alone now. Better that way. Josh's gone back a few times, but he hasn't, not even for holidays because he knows what would happen. Turn around in a circle and scan all the people standing near where they’ve parked the car. It doesn’t help. All the faces blur into one another.
He doesn’t believe this…. He wouldn’t come out all the way here for him. It’s been a year. If he wanted him, if he cared, he’d have been out here long ago. Shakes his head and puts it from his mind. He has a few races to run. Ain’t nothing much, just a few modified races but it’s better than nothing.
Proving himself here away from all the people that know his Daddy and what his last name really means. Scuff a foot against the rough concrete of the place and watch the cars of the race rush past them in a sprint for the lead.
Worries at the inside of his lip, the feel of the gaze hasn’t faded away and he doesn’t need this. Doesn’t need to feel this following him around all day, distracting him. Now, he’ll be thinking about him all day regardless. Josh comes running up and it’s time for him to go.
Climb into the car and he’s completely focused, working to get to the front from his middle of the pack starting position, and soon enough he’s lingering around in the Top 5. But no farther, finishing a distant third. Out of the car and seeing what damage he’s done and what he could possibly do better for the next race and the feeling still hasn’t left him.
He looks around worriedly and he knows he has to be around, just a matter of time before he shows himself. He almost doesn’t want that moment to happen. No reason to stay at the track any longer and he gets into his car and heads home. The feeling of being watched lessening somewhat but returns in full force when he reaches his condo.
Hurries up to his door and fumbles at his keys. Knows he’s in a vulnerable position like this, he’s wary. He knows him…. Push open the door with a sigh of relief and he’s inside without incident, slowly closing the door behind him and…he’s pushed inside, pressed back against the closed door and kissed hard.
Gasp in shock before the breath is kissed out of him, arms immediately wrapping around the warm body and pulling him close. Even after a year he still knows him, still knows the taste of him. It’s just like it was….
Just like it was.

Date: 2007-04-22 06:02 am (UTC)And you said the imagery wasn't good? It grabbed me. I'll just leave it at that.
And the setting? I love you taking him out of his element and dropping him across the country. Hmmm...makes me wonder when this is and how close it is to Cali. ;) lol No, I lilke it. A lot. And I like that he didn't win. Maybe that sounds silly but I just love how you write him.
You always make me feel him not matter the situation.
I think you should expand it. It's good.

Date: 2007-04-22 06:08 am (UTC)It's not. There's so much I need to add to this. Lol, it actually is *in* Cali, hence the pale boy getting a tan. XD That's exactly where I need to add more detail. Hehe, boy said he didn't win. Says he doesn't have the talent, not against the locals anyway.
:)
Ooh, I so plan on expanding it. Definitely gonna be much longer than this when I've really developed it as much as I can.

Date: 2007-04-22 06:11 am (UTC)Hmmmm one of those locals wouldn't be a green eyed demon would it? lmao Either way I love what you have started and it should so be a tomorrow. ;) Just because you need 900 different things to work on like me.
lmao

Do any of them have teeth? Or maybe a Pookie over there?
LOL
I'm having to fight off the Shifty, Storms, MBN, H&W all from this WEEKEND! Guh...they are killing me. Especially since Jeff can't make up his MIND!

Don't know about the Pookie but teeth are definitely covered.
