Title: Room for Improvement (extra)
Fandom: the Avengers/ Exalted
Prompt: radius
Warnings: none
Rating: PG
Summary: After coming home Exalted, Tony has plans and ideas all but pouring out of his ears. Back in Creation, there was magic everywhere, and a little hard work wasn’t going to stop him from finding those wells of magic in his own world.

“Why were you discussing astrology,” Iron Dust asked, finally sinking his teeth into the peach. Juice welled up and spilled down his chin before he caught it with a napkin. He licked his lips and looked from Bruce to Tony. Tony flipped up his tablet and let Bruce take the lead with that one.
Bruce offered Iron Dust his tablet. “I wanted to learn more about it. Can you teach me?”
Iron Dust glanced down at the tablet, but didn’t take it. “I suppose I could teach you some things.” He met Bruce’s gaze. “Much of what I do, though, is done through Essence. Unless you learn to unlock your Essence, you will be unable to do as I do.”
Bruce nodded. “I understand.”
“Tonight then?”
Tony tuned them out as he erased a line on the blue prints only to redraw it. Breathing hard through his nose, he slapped the tablet down only to realize he had lost more than just a moment, as Steve and Clint had wandered off, Natasha had immersed herself in her phone, and Bruce had overtaken Steve’s old seat next to Iron Dust and their heads were bent over his tablet. They all looked up when he tossed the tablet away from him.
Almost sheepish, Tony grimaced. “It’s just not working out for me.”
Iron Dust, were he a lesser man, would have rolled his eyes, but it was a near thing. “Give up on that. We all know that you can do it, but you know just as well as I that it’s a bad idea. Let it go and focus your genius on something else.”
Tony rubbed at his eyes and bit back a yawn. “I want a manse. I got spoiled, and now I want a manse here too.”
“You already have a manse.”
He wrinkled his nose. “At the bottom of the ocean.”
Iron Dust arched a brow. “Then bring it back into the air where it was meant to be.”
Tony stared at Iron Dust for a long moment, letting that thought sink in. He- He could do that? “I can do that?” He could feel a grin threatening to split his face. “I can do that. The Guardian taught me how those engines work. I can fix them and get them air born again! Once it’s in the air, I wouldn’t have to worry about the blast radius if someone attacked, nor would I have to pay property taxes. There’s no way to lose in this!” He leapt to his feet, gathered up his tablet, and was out the door before any one of them could nay say him.
Then he paused, spun about on his heel to reenter the room. He wrapped a hand around Iron Dust’s chin, tipping his head back far enough that he could press a quick kiss to his brow. “What would I do without you?”
He rushed toward his workshop and only just heard Iron Dust murmur, “Be eaten by a Wyld creature.”
“Very probably true,” he called down the hall.
The elevator took him down several floors to the Tower’s workshop. He tossed aside the tablet to the side and JARVIS immediately updated his plans and displayed everything so far in the holographic display.
“No, no, no, JARIVS, I want maps instead. Show me my manse.”
