Summary: Anna and Agathe go on holiday for the first time since they have been reunited in the 21st century.
I swallowed my last piece of toast in a hurry and before anyone could see me, I sneaked out of the house. I had had enough of being nice and going to my lessons. I needed a bit of escape. I wanted to go on adventures, not become the perfect lady and I needed a plan of action for that to happen. I needed time on my own away from everybody else and the world I was destined to unless I could find an escape. And I knew of only one place where I could find such peace: the labyrinth.
I loved the labyrinth. I knew every nooks and crannies of it. I had gotten lost so many times in it that it was now impossible for me not to find my way back. I was sure I could even do it blindfolded. It was too early for anyone to already tempt there chance with the labyrinth and definitely way too early for lovers to come and hide from parents and chaperones.
I walked to a quiet corner where I knew not many people ever arrived to, and sat against the bush, my eyes closed and my head tilted towards the sky. The sun was already warm in spite of the hour and I knew the day would become unbearable later on.
When I next open my eyes I heard a rustling of dress against the bush and can't a glimpse of a bright red fabric before it disappeared around a corner. I looked up at the sky. The sun was much higher than it had been when I first got here. I must have fallen asleep. I blinked a couple of time, trying to get back fully to reality.
I had lost too much time dreaming instead of planning. I was about to get up when I saw the red fabric again. This time I could see the entire dress and the young woman wearing it. I jumped to my feet and before she could disappear I asked, "Got lost?".
She screamed and jumped in surprise.
I laughed unable to stop myself.
"Sorry," I said even if I really wasn't sorry at all. "I didn't mean to startle you."
"I didn't see you hiding there," she said having recovered from her initial surprise.
"I wasn't hiding. I was resting."
"Did you get lost as well?"
"Nah. I know this place like the back of my hand."
"Good," she interrupted before I could add anything else. "I need a guide."
"So you are lost."
"Well yes," she admitted. "But you can't tell that to my friends. We made a bet and I will lose if I don't find my way out soon."
"But that'll be cheating then."
"A little," she admitted. "But they don't have to know that." She blinked at me then with a slight grin on her face.
I laughed. I liked her. "Alright then. Follow me."
I walked in front of her but before setting off I stopped to face her. "I'm Agathe by the way," I said extending my hand to her.
"Anna," she replied shaking my hand.
"Nice to meet you Anna," I said not letting go of her hand before starting to walk away from my little corner. Maybe adventure wasn't waiting for me outside of this town after all.
