Title: Beware the power of the horoscope

" '... Jupiter will be aligned with Uranus, landing you in the Fifth House, associated with passion and fun. It's the perfect time to follow your passion, to take risks, to live your life the fullest.' Sounds fun to me, Mister Sagittarius", Lois commented, looking up from the newspaper she had been reading from. Lionel didn't give a look back at her, trying to seem enthralled by his own reading, but the look on his face showed clearly not only that he had listened to the horoscope she had read to him, but what he was thinking of it - and it wasn't good.
"And I think it means", Lois continued, not ready to give up yet, "that we should do something that doesn't involve a book about some ununderstandable topic." And, with her last words, she grabbed the book Lionel was reading, and put it out of his reach, carefully keeping his page with her finger.
The man sighed, but didn't try to get it back. He knew there was no use, that it would only lead to some childish chase around the room. There was time when he enjoyed those pursuits, but not today. Today, he had work to do. "Not today, Lois. I'm busy. The results I've been expecting for a week just came in yesterday, and I still have a lot of work to do with them before the symposium on Friday. Beside, I don't want to shape my life around what you read in the horoscope."
"You shouldn't ignore the stars' call that lightly", she said in an overly dramatized tone, knowing well that the battle was lost. She didn't believe in horoscope anymore than he did, but she found them amusing, sometimes. And after two months of seeing him working all day long on his stupid new project, she was ready to try anything to get him from it for a few hours. She needed a better plan, though.
Lionel extended his hand, waiting for her to give him his book back. She looked at him with a wince on her face, but eventually put it open on his hand. She sticked her tongue a little, though, for him to know she wasn't pleased.
"Thank you", Lionel said before getting back to his reading, only to be interrupted less than ten minutes after, this time by his phone. Lois had retreated in the couch with the newspaper, and was solving a crossword with application, lying on her belly. She put herself up while he picked up. The conversation didn't last long, and when he hung up, he didn't look pleased.
"What's up ?", Lois asked, surprised by his face.
"That was the boss", he answered gloomily. He stayed silent for a second, preparing himself for what he had to add : "Last minute assignment. We're supposed to be in his office in ten minutes, and on the road in two hours."
Lois tried to hide her happiness the best she could. She was happy to be able to move a bit, but she also knew he wasn't. "What about your symposium ?"
"He already told them I wouldn't be able to attend."
"I'm sorry", she said, getting up. Then she added smugly : "that's what happen when you ignore the power of Jupiter and Unranus, though." And she took off running before he could reach her.
