Title: Don't Piss Off an Angel of the Lord
Fandom: Supernatural
Author: naughty_bangles
Pairing: Megstiel
Rating: PG13
Summary: Don't piss off an angel of the Lord, it never ends well.
Spoilers: vaguely referencing the events of "Goodbye Stranger" in season 8.
Word Count: 518 words
Disclaimer: I've shamelessly stolen the angel and the demon from whoever is in charge of Supernatural now. I'm not giving them back. Never. And since I'm a mighty thief, I've also taken the first dialogue from "Daughter of Smoke and Bone" by Laini Taylor as an additionnal prompt. I'm basking in creepy angels goodness.
Prompt #407: Seethe
A/N : Set in some happy place where then events of "Goodbye Stranger" didn't have the sad ending we know, or where Meg somehow came back.
"His shadow was wrong. It didn't match", the little boy said, shaking and clutching his mom's hand. She made an apologetic face to the police officer, embarrassed by her son's story. But the boy was adamant.
"His shadow had wings, Mom, I swear!", he said, turning toward her with a pleading look.
"Try to focus, Timmy", she replied, her voice soft in an attempt to mask her disbelief.
"Can you tell me something more about this man, Timmy? About something else than his shadow ?", the police officer asked patiently.
"His hair was dark and ... and he was wearing a long coat, like in a gangster movie."
"Well done, Clarence", said an amused Meg from a rooftop above the scene. She was looking down at the boy and his mother, both hands leaned on the stoney low wall that encircled the flat roof. Castiel was standing next to her, looking nowhere in particular, and sulking a little.
"That child shouldn't have been out this late at night", he replied childishly, and Meg had to repress a laugh that would have alerted the police officers downstairs. She turned toward the angel, leaning against the wall.
"So, nothing to blame on your lack of restraint, huh ?", she teased him, grinning. She found the whole situation hilarious, and a little bit hot, too. Maybe more than a little bit.
"That demon threatened you", Castiel stated stubbornly.
There was little here to deny. The demon they had cornered in the dead end under them was one of the few who could tell them what they had needed to know, but he was also one of Crowley's minions. A daredevil who, even after having been beaten up for answers, had found a way to piss Castiel off enough for him to go all angelic and burn the demon from the inside. That's what the kid had seen, the angel doing power play to scare the demon before killing him. Luckily, the boy had been freaked out enough by the winged shadow to run away before the actual entrails-burning began. Unluckily, his mother had shown up before they had time to dispose of the body. Another weird unsolved case for the local police department.
All of this because the demon had described in chosen – and gruesome – details what Crowley would do to her if he ever learned his former chew toy wasn't as dead as he thought she was.
"My hero", she said, her voice going softer than she had intended it to. Even she had to admit there was something touching in the way he blew up their chance at getting informations to protect her. Still the only angel who'd go to battle for her.
"We need to locate another of Crowley's demon", the angel said, going all business again. He had lost the sulking, but he looked a bit sheepish at having screwed their easiest access.
"Yes, we need to do that", Meg replied, standing up straight and walking toward her companion to grab the lapel of his coat. "But right now, I have other plans for us, Clarence."
