It's not often that a cute guy suddenly decides to walk into a gas station. Especially my gas station. Well, my uncle's, but still. I work the night shift. No one else does. It's mine.
And when I say a cute guy, I mean very hot. Like I'm going to call Nicole and Michelle in the morning and tell them what I got to see tonight.
He didn't grab much; headed straight for the coffee machine and got two cups (damn; girlfriend, most likely), two pre-made subs, and a bottle of aspirin. Held it all very well in his lone two hands (wonder what else he could hold) as he made his way up to me. Set it all down, then finally glanced up at me, but when it did, it was so worth the wait. He smiled, and the smile was nothing but charm. And then he asked for my name.
Turns out, the other coffee wasn't for his girlfriend (he's single yesyesyes), it's for his brother, who he's road tripping with. (Not staying long in town then. Damn.) He's got green eyes, loves Metallica and Black Sabbath, enjoys walks on the beach, and drives a gorgeous car. His horoscope is Aquarius, too, just like mine.
He paid for his things, gave me a wink as he left, and then headed out to his car. I heard it start up, and then he pulled out and floored it to the highway.
I'm never going to see him again, I know that much. But I'm not finding myself caring too much, because I got him all to myself for ten whole minutes, and Michelle never laid eyes on him. I got a hot guy, and she didn't.
And that's a big thing for me, because Michelle? Pretty much always snags the cute guys. I mean, she works in the men's department in a chain name store, and she works in the suits department, no less. She gets the gorgeous guys who want to dress up well.
I get the truckers and families. No cute guys in those categories. Well, until tonight.
There probably wasn't any point to giving him my number; he's not going to call. He's an Aquarius, like I am: friendly, but detached. Truth be told, it's probably a good thing I'm an Aquarius, because I get it. (Who knows how many hearts he's broken? His fair share, I'm guessing, with a face like his.)
Still, I'm a girl who loves guys and boyfriends. And as a girl, I'm allowed to daydream about them, and he definitely makes the daydream list. In fact, he's topping it right about now, and that says a lot, because he's beating out Orlando Bloom. And Orlando? He's been number one for a long time. Him I know everything about, too. In fact, I've probably got a better shot with him than I do this guy.
But those eyes and that grin and his voice...a man shouldn't be allowed to be that damn good all over.
And who would've thought that the name “Dean” would sound so dreamy?
