After the Crater – Chapter 6 – The return of Spike
Fandom: Angel the series
Pairing: Dawn/Wesley eventually a few other pairings and even a possibility of slash
Rating: PG eventually NC-17, I’m trying to get there
Summary: Dawn goes to LA after Chosen. Spike gets back to his physical form.
Spike’s POV
I’m here I’m really here. I can reach out and touch people. I know that sounded so clichéd but really. The first thing I do is I reach out my arms and capture Fred in a great big hug. I’ve never been so happy to just hug anyone in my life. I don’t remember much about the first few moments after I came back I think that I know that I kissed Dawn and I’m not sure but I think that I kissed Wesley too. I just wanted to touch everyone and everything. As quickly and I was jumping around I realised that I could now leave the city. I could travel and I could go back to Sunnydale and see where it all happened, see what was left after I died. I died again. As I was thinking about Sunnydale I realised that I don’t want to go back to Buffy. She’s got her own life now and she’s traveling around Europe “finding herself” as the Bit says. She needs to be allowed to be herself without the burden of being the Slayer. Dawn says she’s been seeing this new guy, good for her, she needs someone who’s not as involved in the supernatural as she is. Not a normal guy never normal but not me either.
Wesley’s POV
YUCK Spike kissed me I can’t believe that he did that, I’m not sure that he realised what he did because he kissed Gunn and Angel too as well as the girls. After he ran out of the room flew down to the parking garage I gave Dawn a tour of the offices. It gave us a chance to talk about everything that was has been going on. I explained to her that Spike was slipping away and we weren’t sure if he was going to be sticking around for long and I didn’t want to put her through the agony of losing him again. She countered with the fact that even if he faded away and she lost him again it would’ve been good to say goodbye and to talk with him about what happened before they defeated the first. I understand where’s she’s coming from.
Dawn’s POV
Wesley and I talked after we brought Spike back and I think he gets what I was talking about with saying goodbye and everything. I told him that I had to get home because I had an early shift the next day. Bring Spike back took a bit longer than I thought that it would. Wes tried to talk me into letting him come back with me so we could talk some more but I really had to sleep. Fred and I really kicked off after she got rid of her shadow, that annoying Knox. We decided that we were going to meet up for lunch tomorrow after my shift at the diner; it’ll be nice having someone female to talk to again. As I climb the stairs to my apartment I hear the phone ringing and I start moving double time. I get in the door as the answering machine picks up and instead of hearing Buffy’s voice as was usual it was the falsely happy sound of Xander, he’s the only Scoobie who knows that I’m staying in LA.
“Hey Dawnster just calling to say I’ll be coming through LA late next week and I’ll see you then, I’m flying out of Bangkok on Wednesday after I get the newest member of the counsel on the plane to England and Giles.”
It looks like next weeks going to be fun I can’t wait to see Xander again.
