Christmas is coming my fellow muse tamers and now we mods are interested to know what you want to do with the Christmas time prompts. Last year we extended a few prompts so that people had more time to write. What do you want to do this year? Below is a poll where you can give your vote. The poll is going to be up for at least a week.

[Poll #1090731]

My 2 cents

And yes I feel very strongly about this.

I joined this comm and have my streak of 44 WEEKS in a row. Not 44 prompts in a row. This is something I'm very proud of and I'd hate to see that changed. My suggestion if people decide we need to change that is what if we have 2 prompts, one per week for those that want to keep the WEEKLY streak and just say if you only do one it won't count against you. I don't like that but it's better than not having a weekly prompt for those of us who want our total to actually be consecutive.

Just an idea.

I agree with [livejournal.com profile] catw00man. I'd prefer it to extending the prompts to two weeks because honestly even with friends, family, and festivities and all that, 500 words a week is not that much to do. You can partition it into small bits here and there, wake up early, take your lunch break instead of hanging out with your coworkers, etc. 500 words will only take an hour or two.

So agree. I thought this was supposed to be a challenge. Prompts 2 weeks ahead was requested earlier for personal reasons and that was shot down but now it looks like our weekly streak is gonna be screwed.

Just feels like after all this time we're being cheated. :(

I wouldn't mind just getting them in advance. It's my procrastination that kills me, and even then I've been writing my entire chapters in the last few hours left before deadline... anyway, Christmas and Turkey usually mean more free time for me.

I could change my vote... will change my vote... but I see this being narrowed down to a vote beteween advanced prompts vs. two prompts.

Viola! My b-day on the 21st, right before Turkey Death Day! It's going to blow really hard, so I'll be buried in my prompts. >.

Personal reasons to do with the way my life works mean that I can only write on Saturdays. With Christmas coming, I also have to do shopping and stuff on Saturdays. Personally, having two Saturdays to fit in both writing and shopping, eases the pressure slightly.
This is not a competition and the fact that my 62? 63? consecutive posts are spread across 64 or 65 weeks (can't do the arithmetic at this time of night) doesn't make them any less consecutive.
I'll go along with the majority opinion of the comm, obviously, but a bit of time to spend with family would be nice.

Just wondering... did I miss a mod post where the final decision on this was revealed? Obviously we're over a week into december now, and we neither got a second prompt in advance nor got an extended deadline for the prompt we have (that I'm aware of).

It just makes things easier to plan if I know what's going to be expected of us during the holiday season, whether that's keeping things business as usual, getting an extension, or getting prompts in advance.

Thanks!
