I had never heard the expression 'Bait and Switch' but the ever reliable Wikipedia came to the rescue: A bait and switch is a form of fraud in which the fraudster lures in customers by advertising a good at an unprofitably low price, then reveals to potential customers that the advertised good is not available but that a substitute good is.

Ummm. It worked for me. But I have been getting run errors on LJ for the last couple of hours and had to keep refreshing to get to the post I wanted. Could it be that? Something on LJ going haywire?
