[identity profile] piksa.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] tamingthemuse
I guess it's no surprise to anyone that this is again from my nano fic. Still haven't gotten all the parts in the middle posted. This happens a bit after the other parts I've posted but you don't really have to know much about the fic to understand this. Mainly the fact that Spike has lost his memory and has no idea who Angel is.

Title: Adjusting
Pairing: Angel/Spike
Rating: Overall NC-17
Promt: 20 - Pygmy
Previous parts: here
Warnings: some nasty stuff here, slavery, non-con, slash
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters. They belong to Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy and WB. Just borowing the boys because Joss said I could

Angel moved into the living room and was planning on trying to teach Spike some more standing up and maybe get him to take a few steps even when his phone rang. He managed to reach for it without having to let go of Spike. When he heard Cordelia's voice he knew his plans had just been changed. His friend quickly explained about the vision she had gotten about a demon attack. According to Cordelia there had been quite a few of the demons so in her opinion Angel should ask Wesley to join him. Angel quickly agreed, disconnected the call and dialed Wesley's number. He explained the situation and they agreed to meet at the warehouse Cordy had seen in her vision.

As soon as Angel disconnected the call with Wesley he concentrated on Spike who was still sitting on his lap. He didn't want the younger vampire to think that he was being abandoned or that he had done something wrong that caused Angel to leave. Angel knew that it would take Wesley longer to get to the warehouse than for him so he had a few minutes to spare.

"Spike, I'm sorry but I need to leave for a while. However, this doesn't mean that I'm angry or anything. There is just one thing I need to take care of. I shouldn't be away more than a few hours, probably not even that long." Angel petted Spike's head for a while. "Do you understand what I'm saying about not being angry at you?"

At first there was no reaction from the younger vampire and Angel already thought that he hadn't gotten through but then he could detect the smallest nod against his chest. Of course he couldn't be certain that Spike had really understood but there was at least hope now. He very gently lowered Spike on the floor and made sure to pet his head a few times to reassure him before grabbing his weapons and heading out of the door. He was determined to come back as soon as possible. He didn't want his Childe to panic again.

When Angel got to the warehouse he found Wesley already waiting for him there. Together they entered the warehouse while keeping their ears trained for any unusual sounds. Cordelia had said that there were several demons in there so Angel felt a bit uncertain how they were going to handle it. They needed to surprise the demons and hopefully kill quite a few of them before they were noticed or any kind of counter attack could be planned. Angel lead the way since he was able to see something in the almost dark warehouse. Wesley had to rely to directions he was given. Finally they reached an area that seemed to be a main gathering area for the demons. For a few seconds Angel wasn't able to do anything else than just stare. Yes, there were several dozens of demons there but they looked just like a bunch of kids. If Angel didn't know better or wasn't able to see their faces he would have thought he had stumbled into some school meeting.

"Wesley, what are they? Do you recognize them?"

"I think I've heard about them earlier although I thought they lived only in Africa. They are Woc'hua demons. Some people also refer to them as pygmy demons due to their size."

"How do we kill them?"

"There is nothing special. They are pretty easy to kill. Cutting of their throat or piercing their heart works."

"Okay, let's get to work then."

Angel proceeded to work his way through the demons. Wesley had been absolutely right. They were easy to kill but since there were so many of them it did take some time before the warehouse had been cleaned of them. The only thought driving Angel on was his need to be back with his Childe as soon as possible. He didn't want to deal with another panic attack that night. As soon as they had all the demons killed Angel made sure Wesley was alright and headed then for his car and back to his apartment. He entered the apartment carefully so that he wouldn't spook Spike and was very happy when he found him in the living room. He immediately went to greet him and petted his head. He decided to fit one more feed for them both before retiring to bed. He had gotten a few injuries in the fight so some blood would do him good and Spike needed to regain his strength.

Everytime I read these snippets it does make me want to read more of the wider story - which can only be a good thing. I love that Angel is being so tender and caring with Spike
