Hello everyone! *waves*

It's time for our February monthly challenge!

Choose a cliche and then write a 1000+ word story including the cliche in your story. This should be a complete story, rather than a part of a larger piece, however, it can be original or fan fiction.

Entries will need to be received by midnight 28th Feb at GMT -12. We'll issue a closed post as we do with the weekly prompts.

When you post your entry, please tag it for the challenge.

You do not have to be a regularly contributing member of the community to participate. This challenge is optional and open to everyone.

You are allowed to use the monthly challenge in conjunction with any of the weekly prompts this month as long as you follow all the requirements for both. So, for this month, you would:
- Include the weekly prompt in your story
- It would be a stand-alone, a story of 1000 words or more including a cliche
- It would be posted by the earlier of the two deadlines (midnight Saturday, or midnight on the 28th).

Good luck everyone!

What if the story has been posted somewhere else? Can I still use it?

Sure. I don't think any of us mods are gonna stop you unless you've posted it here before.

Nice to meet you as well! No pressure, but I'm sure we'd like to see you in the regular weeks as well. Its very low-key, no voting or anything. There are even cute awards if you make through a certain number of weeks!

Do we need to specify which cliche we're using?

Yeah...just leave that in an author's note section or with the prompt stuff when you tell us about your story.
