meredevachon for input on the tone and scope of this chapter. I knew it went in the right direction but wasn’t positive I was happy with the flavor. Her input is greatly appreciated.

Date: 2007-06-03 06:52 am (UTC)Now that's new. I don't remember reference before to the power of loose hair in casting.
I am so glad it was Tim who answered the door - he deserves to be drugged and left posed like he went to sleep. I rather hope he gets into trouble for sleeping on duty. Although the fact that Etienne wasn't cloaked before Tim was drugged will mean Tim remembers him, when he wakes. Unlike poor old Chet, who will be really confused.
Freddie's story was interesting. I hope you are going to tell us a bit more about the Healer in the coming weeks. What he is, how he does it and what it means.
I could go and cry. No one could accuse me of cowardice if they believed I wept only for joy.
But it's not that, is it? I pity the people with destinies. I plan to remain forever destiny free. And yet... Love so intense it had been written of in prophecy centuries before *sigh*
The last two paragraphs were full of lovely imagery, but favourites...
As flint to stone, my body reacted and
individual sensations were no longer distinguishable from the ones before or the ones after Lovely.

I pity the people with destinies. I plan to remain forever destiny free. Smart girl. I did a short piece on destiny earlier in the week. I think it would be horrible to live under what they have... and speaking of, w/regard to The Healer, I may do another post like I did for Lucie. All of that's dealt with in the first book, and I can't recall there being in the third other than some minor stuff with Kincaid. There was quite a bit in the early part of SA, but that's behind us now, too. I'll just do a separate post.
Glad you enjoyed the end. Lucie's descriptions of lovemaking are very different from the youngsters. It's hard to write that...

Date: 2007-06-03 05:52 pm (UTC)Etienne's rescue was really heart in the mouth stuff with the encounter with Tim and then the bit of business with Chet and the spell. I never doubted that they would get away, but just given the scenario, I couldn't be entirely sure until the taxi was taking them back to the hotel.
Then there was the intensity of Lucie finding the lingerie and getting herself ready to welcome Etienne back in the most complete manner possible. "Oh, Etienne, I thought, what surprises lie in wait for you… starting with this one."
Both such different scenes - both demonstrating the fearlessness and determination and intimacy which binds these people together.
Bravo love, that was just terrific.

Date: 2007-06-03 07:49 pm (UTC)fearlessness and determination and intimacy Yes, that's a good way to say it. Lucie really drives that now, although it was Thalia who did before. I wonder what they'd have all been like if she hadn't been there...
*sighs enormously* Okay. So this works, and isn't too dichotomous? Your comments have really helped. I never liked this chapter as much as I thought I should have for some reason. Fortunately, things begin to pick up now. Oh, and Declan returns! (I don't mind spoiling you for that.)
