Sylvie’s trademark hair was tucked under a black watch cap, and I knew it would be loose beneath it. Under ordinary circumstances, it would be plaited to be held out of her way. But if she needed her magic…
Now that's new. I don't remember reference before to the power of loose hair in casting.
I am so glad it was Tim who answered the door - he deserves to be drugged and left posed like he went to sleep. I rather hope he gets into trouble for sleeping on duty. Although the fact that Etienne wasn't cloaked before Tim was drugged will mean Tim remembers him, when he wakes. Unlike poor old Chet, who will be really confused.
Freddie's story was interesting. I hope you are going to tell us a bit more about the Healer in the coming weeks. What he is, how he does it and what it means.
I could go and cry. No one could accuse me of cowardice if they believed I wept only for joy.
But it's not that, is it? I pity the people with destinies. I plan to remain forever destiny free. And yet... Love so intense it had been written of in prophecy centuries before *sigh*
The last two paragraphs were full of lovely imagery, but favourites...
As flint to stone, my body reacted and
individual sensations were no longer distinguishable from the ones before or the ones after Lovely.
