Title: Fable V: Beauty and the Ben
Author: tigerstriped86
Fandom: QaF (US); Fable!verse
Pairing: Ben/Michael; Em/Ted

Rating: Teen
Prompts: birthday ([livejournal.com profile] foreverbm ), may mysterious package challenge ([livejournal.com profile] tamingthemuse ), and 200-blood, sweat, and hysterics ([livejournal.com profile] tamingthemuse )

Disc/Notes: This bad boy clocks in just over 12,000 words in four chapters.  Its based primarily on the Disney recreation of the Beauty and the Beast fairy tale (with far less singing cause, I mean, we've all heard Hal Sparks try and sing) with the characters of the QaF universe interchanged into appropriate parts.

Summary: A world where the heart of an icy prince is thawed by a smart and charismatic young man is not a bad place to be.

On with the fiction!

Title: Dog Days of Summer

Prompt: 198 – year of the pig; May mysterious package challenge
Warnings: None.
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~2450
Summary: July 1995. John leaves 16-year-old Dean and 12-year-old Sam alone at Bobby's for a week while he and Bobby go off on a hunt. An unexceptional cardboard box is left on the porch and what they find inside is probably the furthest thing from what Dean expected.

Hello fellow muse tamers!

It's again time for the monthly challenge. This time around I decided to try something different. Feel free to tell me your thoughts about doing the prompts this way. Also if you have any other ideas about handling the monthly prompts, feel free to share.

Anyway, the prompt is the following

Write a 1000+ word story. This should be a complete story, rather than a part of a larger piece, however, it can be original or fan fiction. The twist this time around is that in the story a mysterious package arrives

Entries will need to be received by midnight 31st May at GMT -12. We'll issue a closed post as we do with the weekly prompts.

When you post your entry, please tag it for the challenge.

You do not have to be a regularly contributing member of the community to participate. This challenge is optional and open to everyone.

You are allowed to use the monthly challenge in conjunction with any of the weekly prompts this month as long as you follow all the requirements for both. So, for this month, you would:
- Include the weekly prompt in your story
- It would be a stand-alone, a story of 1000 words or more where a mysterious package arrives
- It would be posted by the earlier of the two deadlines (midnight Saturday, or midnight on the 3ist).
